    Learn to Ride-KIDS
Is your child at that age where he or she wants to ride a two-wheeler? If so, this class is for you. This class teaches a safe, easy, effective way to learn to ride. Using this “balance first” method, our facilitators help get their children rolling while the child does most of the work. Participants learn the basics of balancing, starting, stopping, and steering a bike, as well as proper helmet fit and adjustment. Most people learn to ride their bike while taking the class, but even if they don’t, they will leave with an easy, hands-free, crash-free, and low-stress way to learn to ride.

    • Lot 28 on MSU Campus, Clove Rd. Montclair, NJ 07042

This is a Ride Rodeo Bike Riding Skill Building Program for school age riders and their parents/guardians. Riders will learn how to scan for traffic, maneuver through an obstacle course, recognize/ avoid hazards and signal their intentions to drivers and fellow riders.  If you can balance while tracing a figure 8 with your bike, you are likely ready for the Ride Rodeo!

There will be stations for a bike check, helmet fitting, and tire pressure.  Please bring an appropriately sized bike in good working order.  We will not be conducting bike repair, just checking for bike readiness for the course.

Less experienced riders should come from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM while more skill riders should come from 10:00 AM - 12:00 pm

There will also be a Learn To Ride class for riders who are not quite upto their first Rodeo.  Working bike and helmet are required.

Parent/ Guardian presence is required along with signed waivers.

Helmets are required and a limited number of free helmets will be available courtesy of Meadowlink!  There will be some other cool, free stuff and this event is free and open to the community.

    Learn to Ride-KIDS
Is your child at that age where he or she wants to ride a two-wheeler? If so, this class is for them. Using the “balance first” method, pedals are removed and seats lowered to allow feet to touch flat to the ground, reducing stress and anxiety.  Once instructors feel the child has reached the minimal threshold of balance and control, pedals are put on.  This usually makes things a little more difficult initially but soon enough they are riding! Participants learn the basics of balancing, starting, stopping, and begin to learn how to steer their bike. Proper helmet fit and adjustment is also covered.  Not everyone learns to ride in one class, however students may return as often as needed at no additional fee.  Some spills and minor scraped shins are not unusual but all part of the learning process.  PARENTS, PLEASE ALLOW YOUR CHILD THE SPACE TO LEARN AT THEIR OWN PACE.  We want to keep this a positive learning experience.  We appreciate your cooperation.

    When: May 17, 2014
Time: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM, Rain or Shine (thunderstorms cancel)

Meet: Brookdale Park – Enter the Park from Bellevue Avenue. Park in the first parking lot on the left - near the soccer fields & bleachers. The walk will begin and end at the northern end of the parking lot.
